FootScoreNow operates as an independent football media platform. Our editorial coverage is not influenced by commercial relationships, sponsorship arrangements, or affiliations with football clubs, governing bodies, agents or other commercial interests.

Advertising revenue from Google AdSense and direct partnerships does not affect editorial decisions. Advertisers have no right to review, approve or request changes to editorial content before or after publication. Commercial and editorial operations are kept strictly separate.

If a conflict of interest arises — for example, if an author has a personal or financial relationship with a subject being covered — this must be disclosed to the editor and, if necessary, a different author must be assigned to that piece.

All content published on FootScoreNow must meet the following standards:

• Accuracy: Statistics, scores, dates, names and facts must be verified against official or authoritative sources before publication.
• Fairness: Opinion and analysis must be clearly distinguished from factual reporting. Claims about individuals or organisations must be fair and evidence-based.
• Clarity: Content must be written in clear, accessible language. Technical football terminology should be explained where it may not be universally understood.
• Originality: FootScoreNow publishes original content only. Reproducing or paraphrasing content from other publications without proper attribution and transformation is not permitted.
• Timeliness: News content is labelled with a publication date and time. Significant updates to existing articles are timestamped and noted.

FootScoreNow writers are required to identify and cite their sources. Acceptable sources for football editorial content include:

• Official statements from clubs, leagues, governing bodies (FIFA, UEFA, CAF, CONMEBOL, AFC, CONCACAF) and national associations
• Verified journalist reports from established sports media
• Official match data from accredited sports data providers
• Press conference quotes obtained directly or from reputable wire services
• Statistical data from official competition websites and verified databases

Anonymous sources may be used where there is a legitimate journalistic reason and the information can be corroborated. When using unnamed sources, our editors require the source's identity before publication.

Social media posts (Twitter/X, Instagram, etc.) may be referenced as primary sources only when they are from verified official accounts of the relevant club, player, manager or governing body.

FootScoreNow uses artificial intelligence tools to support content creation. This includes research assistance, first-draft generation and proofreading. Our policy on AI usage is as follows:

• Human oversight is mandatory: No AI-generated content is published without review, editing and approval by a human editor. AI is a tool, not a substitute for editorial judgement.
• Facts must be verified: AI-generated statistics and factual claims are always independently verified against authoritative sources before publication. AI language models are known to hallucinate statistics — our editors treat AI outputs as a starting point, not a source.
• Labelling: Articles that have been substantially assisted by AI generation will carry an appropriate disclosure note at the end of the article.
• Opinion and voice: Opinion pieces and analysis that carry an author's name represent that author's genuine perspective and must not be purely AI-generated.

FootScoreNow is committed to correcting errors promptly and transparently. Our corrections process:

• Minor errors (typographical errors, minor factual inaccuracies that do not change the substance of the article) are corrected silently in the article text.
• Significant errors (incorrect scores, wrong player names in key contexts, materially inaccurate statistics or factual claims) are corrected with an editor's note at the top or bottom of the article, noting what was changed and when.
• Score data errors are corrected in our live data system as soon as identified, typically within minutes.

To report an error, email bugs@footscorenow.com with the article URL, the error and the correct information. We aim to acknowledge correction requests within 24 hours.

Writers and contributors to FootScoreNow are expected to:

• Write from a position of genuine knowledge or appropriate research about the subject
• Disclose any personal or commercial interests relevant to the content they produce
• Not accept payments, gifts or other inducements from clubs, agents, players or governing bodies in exchange for favourable coverage
• Adhere to this editorial policy and the general principles of responsible sports journalism
• Respond promptly to correction requests forwarded by editors

Authors are identified on their articles and maintain author profile pages on the platform. Author profiles are subject to the same accuracy standards as editorial content.

Live match scores, statistics and match events are sourced from third-party sports data providers via our self-hosted API layer. We apply the following standards to score data:

• Score data is updated in real time via our data pipeline with a typical latency of under 60 seconds from the live event
• In the event of discrepancies between our data and official results, the official result as published by the relevant governing body takes precedence
• Historical match data is not edited retrospectively unless an official correction is issued by the relevant competition organiser
• Match data is provided for informational purposes and is not intended for use in betting, official record-keeping, or commercial data products

FootScoreNow's FIFA World Cup 2026 coverage follows the same editorial standards as all other content on the platform. Additional considerations for World Cup coverage include:

• All 48 national teams are covered without bias — we do not favour particular nations in our editorial framing
• Group stage standings and knockout bracket data is sourced directly from FIFA's official data feeds and reconciled against our internal pipeline
• Match previews and analysis are based on verifiable form, statistics and tactical observations — not speculation or rumour
• Controversial VAR decisions, disciplinary issues and off-field stories are covered factually and with appropriate context

FootScoreNow displays advertising served by Google AdSense and, occasionally, direct advertising partners. The following policies apply to advertising on the platform:

• Advertising is clearly distinguishable from editorial content at all times
• Sponsored content, if published, is clearly labelled as "Sponsored" or "Advertisement"
• FootScoreNow does not accept native advertising that is designed to be mistaken for independent editorial content
• Advertisers do not receive editorial favours, positive coverage guarantees or the ability to influence article content
